How To Increase Sales With An Unpaid Salesforce

Updated: Feb 6

I kicked-off a meeting with a brand new client of ours last week, talking about the performance of their sales team.

I had responded to their question of "How to increase my sales"?

We talked about all manner of different sales KPIs - how many appointments they were generating, close-rates, pipeline left before the end of their financial years and everything else you would expect to include in that kind of conversation.

But then I mentioned “and what about your unpaid salesforce? “

The client scratched her head at that point and said “how do you mean”?

And I said “well for instance, who in your customer base regularly brings you other opportunities, whether from their own firm or elsewhere within their professional network”?

And they replied that’s an interesting question, I don’t know if we have any of those at the moment.

And so from there, we started to map out their business’ very own ecosystem.

A Business EcoSystem comprises:

  • Customer base

  • Value-chain

  • Senior Management

  • Professional networks

the whole kit and caboodle, on their virtual whiteboard.

At Sales Marvel, we invest every single penny of our company spend into our ecosystem; there has to be a really good and urgent reason for anyone to spend any money outside of it.

This ensures we get maximum value for money of course but also that our business community benefits from our spend too.

In viewing our EcoSystem as a key asset, we help it to grow every time we invest in it; that in turns helps us to grow also...and the more our EcoSystem grows, the more business it generates for us.

Our very own unpaid sales force.
